Welcome to our school, where our motto, ‘Rising to the Challenge’, inspires us every day to strive for excellence in everything we do. We believe that learning is a journey, and each step we take brings us closer to achieving our personal and academic goals. At the heart of our community are our core values – respect, responsibility, care, fairness, and personal best – which we proudly call our ‘Seeds of Success’. These values guide our actions, shape our relationships, and create a safe and supportive environment for every learner.

Our school is a vibrant and dynamic place where curiosity, commitment, creativity, and collaboration are nurtured as essential learning powers. These qualities are deeply embedded in our culture and play a vital role in helping students grow into confident, capable, and thoughtful individuals. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or during creative projects, we encourage every student to explore their potential, challenge themselves, and work together to achieve shared goals.

At our school, we are committed to providing high-quality teaching and learning through balanced and evidence-based approaches. Our learning focus areas include the explicit teaching of literacy and phonics, ensuring that students build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and communication. We also embrace inquiry learning, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and explore the world around them through hands-on, student-led investigations. In addition to our core curriculum, we value and celebrate a broad and engaging learning experience through specialist subjects including Physical Education, STEM, Indonesian, and the Music/Arts program. These areas enrich our students’ education, support their wellbeing, and help them discover their unique interests and talents.

Our beautiful outdoor learning spaces are a unique and valued part of life at Girraween. From our vibrant gardens, featuring class-grown produce, to our school farm with chickens, students across all year levels connect with nature and take part in hands-on, sustainable learning experiences. These spaces not only support wellbeing and engagement but also deepen understanding of environmental responsibility.

I welcome you to come and experience Girraween Primary School for yourself. Please contact our administration team if you would like a tour of the school or to receive any further information.
